In Fantastic Voyage, the group selects the journey: outer space, haunted house, mountains high or ocean deep. In The Big Meow discover your inner cat. In Camp Cupcake conquer a sweet tooth. Examine emotions through color in Splatter, explore transformation in the Magic Butterfly or life cycles in Why Do Cicadas Scream? Favorite creatures show up in Fantastic Animals and Here Comes the Parade delights in repetition and pattern. Enjoy a week or more of fun and creativity. We adhere to safety protocols.

THE MAGIC BUTTERFLY

Volunteers
Volunteer for one week or more. This is a great way to gain community service hours. You will receive a letter of completion and certificate documenting your hours of service. We welcome older adults as well as teens, age 15 and above.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Campers, their families, and staff will follow new and enhanced safety guidelines to minimize risks throughout the summer. Campers should arrive at camp wearing a mask.
Children must wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the camp and its activities. Sandals are not allowed.
Campers should bring water and a snack, plus a lunch. Campers should bring a small rug, blanket or towel.
Campers and staff are required to wear masks throughout the camp day, pursuant to the current state issued guidance, apart from mealtimes and mask breaks.
Camps will be follow enhanced cleaning and sanitation protocols for maximum safety.
Group sizes will be assessed to allow for maximum participation while still maintaining either 6 or 10 ft. social distance,
All camp activities will be modified to increase distancing and to meet sanitation requirements.

REFUNDS
A $35 non-refundable registration fee is included in enrollment/camp. Each summer camp is subject to enrollment minimum of 5 students. Extended Day is subject to an enrollment minimum of 3 students. Full refunds are issued if a camp is cancelled. (Camps may be exchanged up to 30 days prior to the start date. Missed camps may not be exchanged.) All requests for refunds must be made in writing and sent to Jane Franklin Dance. In the event of illness we cannot offer a refund and we provide no make-up policy.
Beginning May 1, 2021, camp refunds will be issued at the following rates:
- 75% of camp fee refund up to 28 days prior to the first day of camp
(minus registration fee and transaction fee) - 50% of camp fee refund up to 21 days prior to the first day of camp
(minus registration fee and transaction fee) - No refund will be issued less than 14 calendar days prior to the start of camp.
- Payment is not based on attendance; it is the responsibility of the guardian to cancel, by the deadline, if the camper won’t attend.
Contingency for changes due to building occupancy restrictions:
We have been assured by Arlington County that we will receive ample notice regarding building occupancy. If a transition to a virtual camp is made, families will be notified immediately. Upon notification, you may (1.) withdraw and receive a refund or (2.) continue enrollment and receive an additional camp week free of charge.
Requested refunds will be issued according the schedule above.
FEES
All purchases made through Jane Franklin Dance are subject to a transaction fee. This applies to all credit/debit transactions whether in person, online, or over the phone.
PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES
As per Arlington County requirements, all students 10 years old and younger must be escorted to and from the building by a parent or responsible adult, i.e. they may not be dropped off or picked up in the parking lot. Enter the building from the back parking lot and sign in at the building monitor’s desk. Camp Packets include required media waiver and emergency contact forms for parents/guardians to sign and return to Jane Franklin Dance prior to camp start date.
