Out of Town in September

Jane Franklin Dance is on the road in September with performances at the Charlotte Dance Festival in North Carolina on September 9 at 7:00 pm and September 10 at 5:00 pm. The mission of the Charlotte Dance Festival is to present a variety of quality dance genres in a three different atmospheres: formal theater, outdoor stage and site-specific. Applications poured in from Texas all the way to Connecticut. Participants underwent a difficult adjudication process in order to have their work presented and JFD is pleased to be selected to be a part of the 1st Annual Charlotte Dance Festival.

The company travels to Radford University for a performance on September 11. Part of our residency involves rehearsal time with danah bella who is participating as a contributing choreographer for our collaborative project Found "in the gap between art and life," premiering at Dance Place in January 2007 as part of our 10th Anniversary Season.

On September 23, JFD performs at 7:30 pm for Arts Alive in a new facility in West Point, Virginia, the W.T. Robinson Civic Auditorium and Fine Arts Center at 1040 Thompson Avenue.  Call 804-843-3475 for tickets.

On September 28 at 5:30 pm, the company joins other distinctive groups in DC Dances Showcase at the Reginald Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture in Baltimore at 830 E Pratt St.  The evening includes performances by
