Adult Dance Technique.

Classes are ongoing.  You may join at any time. Saturdays from 9:15 am - 10:45 am. $15.

AT THE STUDIO

Jane Franklin Dance is instructing students from Arlington's Ft.Henry Gardens AHC in after-school dance classes held weekly.  The group, led by Jane Franklin, Elizabeth Fogarty, Nellie Rainwater, and Lisa Christensen Gee is performing at Sunday's Dance Sampler matinee performance.  AHC, Inc. exists to preserve the supply of affordable housing for low and moderate income families and enhances the quality of life in neighborhoods where they are located.

And yes, we are still looking for even more talented volunteer board members for Jane Franklin Dance.

If you can contribute your time, thoughfulness, and leadership one evening every six weeks for a Board Meeting, and for a few hours in between, and are interested in exploring this opportunity, call Jane at 703-298-3235.  We're looking for individuals with knowledge/experience in donor cultivation, accounting, web design, strategic planning or bookeeping.

Artful Afternoon

Greenbelt Community Center

November 4 at 3 pm

Jane Franklin Dance is performing new and recent repertory for Greenbelt's Artful AfternoonBoundary is explored as an abstract concept and sometimes literally.  Space closes in "Big Box Getting Smaller."  A delay is the barrier in "One Step Behind."  Text by artist Lawrence Weiner defines geographical borders in "A Stake Set in the Ground."  In "On Conditions " performed to Alan Licht's New York Minute boundaries exist with an unseen partner.

Suitable for all ages. Come early for hands-on crafts with Artist in Residence Hussein Saidi, 1-3pm.  Attend the performance and receive a Two-For-One discount to Dance Sampler the following Sunday!

Dance Sampler, a showcase of distinctive dance artists, goes regional by presenting a Bates Dance Festival Emerging Choreographer, artists from Pennsylvania and Baltimore, and emerging and established companies from the Metro area.  Classes on Nov 10 are held on stage for all levels of experience, and are led by the featured choreographers.

IN RESIDENCE

Jane Franklin Dance returns to James K. Polk Elementary during October and November for after-school workshops.  Workshops are led by Jane Franklin, Brianne Barrow and April Betty.  This marks our fourth consecutive year at James K. Polk. A BIG THANK YOU to Polk PTA volunteer Amy Firestone for her help in getting students back and forth safely.

IN RESIDENCE

In November on Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 pm, Jane Franklin teaches a dance technique class for active adults at Walter Reed Senior Center.
