Marketing Associate
Are you looking for an excellent working opportunity in arts administration? Jane Franklin Dance has an opening. Duties include networking, production of marketing materials, implementing Media schedule, development of new marketing opportunities, and distribution of promotional material. Computer skills desired. Experience in working with non-profit dance or other performing arts nonprofits is a plus. Hours are flexible 10 -20 hours weekly. Jane Franklin Dance led movement classes for "Campagna Kids meets Ainslie Arts Center" at Episcopal High School on May 19. Alexandira's Patrick Henry Elementary Campagna kids had an afternoon of dance, theater, ceramics and recording studio experimentation. Thanks to EHS Arts Chair, Douglas Kehlenbrink, Campagna's Autumn McCain and Patricia Lender at Patrick Henry for pulling together a great arts day.
Out in the Community
On Thursday June 1, Jane Franklin Dance performed Jazz on Foot for all the students at Tuckahoe Elementary in Arlington. Jazz on Foot traces jazz music from its roots in 19th century New Orleans, through the northward migration to New York's Harlem Renaissance, to the Bebop era of the 1950’s. Thanks to the faculty, staff, PTA and particularly Camille Scarborough for bringing Jazz on Foot

Jane Franklin Dance joins the Inaugural Capital Fringe Festival of 'out-there' events in dance, theater, performance, music. You can join us for the kick-off party at the Warehouse on July 20 or take a class with Jane at The Fringe Training Factory - Adult Dance Beginners, Flashpoint, 916 G St NW, Washington DC, July 21 3:30 - 5:00 pm. www.capfringe.com. Dance Sampler - Call for Choreography
Submit your choreography for Dance Sampler, a day long festival on Dec 2, 2006. Selected choreographers teach a workshop, and perform their work in the evening. Workshops can be proposed in any style for dancers of any age or level of experience. To apply please send a VHS tape or DVD of your completed choreography, a brief description of a proposed workshop, a $25 submission fee, and a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of materials to: Jane Franklin Dance, 3700 S Four Mile Run Drive, Arlington VA 22206.
Submission deadline is Sept 25, 2005. Selected choreographers receive publicity, technical support, and a $150 stipend. Workshops and the performance take place at Gunston Theater One, Arlington. For additional information call 703-298-3235. Submission form. |
