"The group combined just the right amount of humor, music, movement, and difficult science concepts. We love finding programs that integrate the arts with core curricula.  We were thrilled to find (Very Physical Science)."

In the meantime, JFD's school performance Jazz on Foot that traces the history of jazz music from its roots in 19th Century New Orleans, to the northward migration to cities like Chicago and New York, and to the Bebop era of the 1950's, has been traveling to Montgomery County Public Schools and to Virginia through partnering organizations the Arlington Humanities Project and the Alexandria Commission.  Recent performances have taken place at Kenmore Middle School and Taylor Elementary in Arlington, and Gaithersburg High School.   We are seeking additional hosting schools in Alexandria.  If you would like information about Jazz on Foot or other performances for your school, call 703-298-3235.

Warehouse

Warehouse Theater co-presents Temporal Interference, a performance collaboration with Jane Franklin Dance, new media artist Bryan Leister and composer Gina Biver. An interactive dance installation, Temporal Interference explores the space memory occupies. The performers control sound and media through movement.
Using real time and image dissolves along with interactive sound via a theremin, the dancers respond to and create what is seen and heard, and what is captured and eventually released. Just as our presence reflects around us, or how we might remember something and it stays with us, the work explores the space memory occupies and how that affects those around us.
