In the meantime, JFD's school performance Jazz on Foot that traces the history of jazz music from its roots in 19th Century New Orleans, to the northward migration to cities like Chicago and New York, and to the Bebop era of the 1950's, has been traveling to Montgomery County Public Schools and to Virginia through partnering organizations the Arlington Humanities Project and the Alexandria Commission. Recent performances have taken place at Kenmore Middle School and Taylor Elementary in Arlington, and Gaithersburg High School. We are seeking additional hosting schools in Alexandria.
