Adult Repertory - Would you like to perform? Would you like to participate in the delicious process of building a dance? Jane is making a new work for adult dancers and company members for the Improvisation Festival and for Art on the Avenue. All levels of experience welcome.  Attendance at all rehearsals NOT mandatory.

VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS We're looking for a few talented and conscientious volunteer board members to lead and strengthen our programs for dance education, community engagement and public performance. If you can contribute your time, thoughtfulness, and leadership one evening every six weeks for a Board Meeting, and for a few hours in between, and are interested in exploring this opportunity, call Jane at 703-298-3235.  We're especially looking for folks with donor cultivation experience, with backgrounds in accounting or with computer skills, from the Asian or African-American communities, or who are on the younger side of the community.  Or young at heart!

Dance Sampler 2007

Application Deadline Sept 5

If you are a choreographer and want an opportunity to show your work to a supportive and enthusiastic crowd, please submit your choreography for Dance Sampler, a day long festival on Nov 10, 2007, with performances on Nov 10 at 8 pm and Nov 11 at 3 pm.  Works will be selected by the adjudication panel: Maida Withers and Dan Joyce.

To apply please send a DVD of your completed choreography, a brief description of a proposed workshop, a $25 application fee, and a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of materials to:

All entries receive a Festival Pass, value $30, and panelist review comments.
Application deadline is Sept 5, 2007.

Selected choreographers receive professional production including publicity, technical support, and a $150 stipend.

Charlotte Dance Festival

We are delighted to announce our performance for Dance Charlotte! at North Carolina's Charlotte Dance Festival.  Performances take place on September 6 & 7 at the Booth Playhouse in Uptown Charlotte.

On September 5 and 6 we are at the Carlisle School in Martinsville VA, made possible in part by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Paul Mellon Arts in Education Program and the Virginia Commission for the Arts Touring Program.

KDance's 9th "Yes,Virginia - Dance" festival takes place September 15, 2007 at the Grace Street Theatre in Richmond, Virginia.  This yearly event brings together professional dancers and choreographers in the region for a shared concert in contemporary dance.  This year Jane Franklin Dance performs alongside other selected dance companies.
